Recent User Experience

This wheelchair “caddy” is doing the job I needed it for: holding a bag or two worth of groceries on the back of an XL transport wheelchair, while I shopped. The stretchy loops on the interior can be used to hold a drink, or grocery item upright. The mesh pouch on the interior is perfect for holding a cell phone, easily accessible but not obvious or zipped away in a pocket to overheat. The mesh pocket allows air circulation around my phone, when I’m using it with headphones. I like that I can still loop my shopping bag handles over the wheelchair handles, to carry more items. Then I attach this caddy around the handles. The straps loop easily under the brake “triggers” and snap closed. Hard to describe, but I hope the photo here shows where I attach it. What I like most about it, is that the groceries are in the open for security to see that I’m not walking around slipping stuff into a hanging shopping bag. When putting the wheelchair into the car, I detach both sides, fold up rigid “floor” panel and flatten the caddy. Then I tuck the caddy into the seat and collapse the wheelchair. It really takes just seconds.I’m wavering between four and five stars, because I feel that eventually the spot where the straps are sewn to the caddy will tear away from the weight of groceries. It hasn’t happened yet but the unit does tip forward a bit once the weight of groceries is added. If the caddy lasts me a year, I think it will be well worth replacing at this price, which seems very fair. It’s made my life as a caregiver a little easier and for that, I think it’s well worth the price.
