What Everyone's Saying

Customers find the heart rate monitor accurate, particularly noting it performs better than wrist-based monitors, and appreciate its functionality, though some report it stops working. The compatibility receives mixed feedback, with some successfully syncing with Peloton while others struggle with iPhone connectivity. The device's durability is concerning, with multiple customers reporting it breaking after 5 days of use, and battery life varies from amazing to draining in 2 weeks. While some consider it good value for money, others feel it's a waste of money.

Recent User Experience

I bought this monitor to replace an old Nike SMA007 strap monitor. I decided to try it even not knowing if the ANT+/Bluetooth technology was compatible with the old Nike Triax C8. When I tested it, the HRM-Dual sensor was not compatible with the old C8. I tried it with another old watch that I got in a raffle few years ago, a Garmin Forerunner 35. The HRM-Dual is fully compatible with this Garmin watch. The HRM-Dual is not directly compatible with the Garmin Connect App in iPhone via Bluetooth. However, the sensor can be seen and updated by Garmin Express in Windows PC through the Forerunner watch. The HRM-Dual is directly compatible with the Wahoo App and with the Polar Beat App in the iPhone via Bluetooth. The two Apps that I tested with. It is probably compatible with many other workout iPhone Apps. This morning, I tested the accuracy of the HRM-Dual by comparing it against a three electrodes medical EKG heart monitor that I wear during my cardiac rehab sessions. During my full 40 minutes routing of treadmill (20) and elliptical (20), the HRM-Dual was off by +0/-1 BPM than the medical EKG heart monitor. The medical heart monitor records the EKG wave form and heart rate (BPM) during the complete session. The monitor is easy to install and it is functional after it has been strapped in the chest. The strap needs to be wetted before is put on. The sensor does not have a light or visual indication of being operational. But the watch detected it as soon as I enter the working option in the watch. At the same time, the sensor was connected to my iPhone running the Wahoo App after being paired via Bluetooth within the App. Polar Beat App also detected the sensor thought the iPhone Bluetooth. In summary, I am very happy with this monitor even though, I believe, it has been discontinued by Garmin.
