Learned about this living in Japan. There's usually left-over rice from dinner in the rice cooker (not cold -- you must be using the "keep warm" setting on the cooker or you can get sick) and if there's something like grilled salmon, or pork tenderloin, or chicken in the fridge. Then in the morning you can boil some water in the kettle, put some rice (preferably a Japanese rice, but it works with basmati or other rice) in a small bowl, sprinkle the wakame chazuke over the rice and (optional) add some salmon, or thinly-sliced pork or chicken. I'll also add leftover steamed corn kernels. Pour enough hot water in the bowl to cover the rice and allow the meat to warm through. Eat with a wide spoon. Perfect morning starter. Don't let it sit too long because the rice will absorb the water and get mushy...
