This was the first time I've seriously used ginseng. I knew for a very long time that Korean Ginseng was legendary and was highly sought after in ancient Asian history. I don't like taking prescription medications and prefer to go about things more naturally now that I'm in my 50's. I've always suspected that OTC ginseng products were sketchy and they're often capsules or pills. This time I wanted to try out the real stuff, in extract form.The first time I opened it, it looked like sticky tar, I was familiar with this because I saw something similar as a plum product. This item comes with a 2pc plastic spoon you screw together and is a good quality spoon which I use to pull a spoonful and mix with boiling hot water. I tried it pure by dabbing a tiny amount on my finger and noticed the bitterness. Being Japanese-decent, I'm used to bitter tasting herbs so this didn't overwhelm me.After stirring it in a coffee mug, I tasted it. I decided it would be nicer to add some organic raw honey, about a teaspoon and was very happy with the results. I normally would crave soda, diet Pepsi or something similar but I haven't had much of it because this is so much better.I don't feel anything special honestly, it's nothing like a sugar or caffeine boost. The sensation is more like feeling more balanced. I wasn't craving snacks or any sweet drinks, my digestion seemed better, and because I wasn't snacking as much, my weight dropped a little, and it's only been about a week or so.Going back to digestion, I noticed I don't feel bloated all that much, and my visits to the bathroom are much more complete IYKWIM. I'm much more calm, I'm more focused without using caffeine or soda, I sleep much better for some reason and I feel a lot more relaxed. Again, the best word I can use to describe using this is feeling very balanced. Nothing overly anything, just very balanced.
