I love hijiki seaweed, and have this brand on subscription along with the wakame. My husband and I order a big family pack of seaweed from Larch of Maine Seaweed because my husband actually helped Larch harvest decades back. His family pack does not include hijiki, Hence why I order it separately.One of my favorite ways to prepare hijiki is stir fried with carrot and sweet onion in sesame oil, adding shoyu at the end. Simple, but the carrot and sweet onion provide a nice balance of sweet flavor with the hijiki mild taste of the sea. I'm a macrobiotic counselor, and have a recipe book with several recipes using hijiki. If you've never tried it, hijiki from this company comes in skinny stringy strands which swell once they soak. Add to stir fries and vegetable dishes to boost the mineral content of your meals.
